Text of the meditation
Deliverance will entrance those who strive with sins and sorrows, tears and pains, until they attain. Be not the slave of lusts and cravings and indulgences, of disappointments, miseries and griefs, fears, doubts and lamentations, but control yourself with calmness.
Master that in you which masters others, and which up to now has mastered you. Let not your passions rule; rule your passions. Subjugate yourself until passion is transmuted into peace, and wisdom crowns you; so you will attain, and by attaining, know. Look within.
In the midst of change abides the Changeless; at the heart of strife the Perfect Peace reposes. At the root of all the restless striving of the world is passion. Whoever follows passion finds pain, but whoever conquers passion finds peace. I am ignorant, yet I strive to know; nor will I cease to strive until I attain.
