Text of the meditation
Joy is for the sinless! The wise know. For them anxiety, fear, disappointment and unrest have ceased, and under whatever condition or circumstance they may be placed, their calmness will not be broken, and they will bend and adjust everything with capacity and wisdom.
Nothing will cause them grief. When friends yield up the body of flesh, they know that those friends still are, and do not sorrow over the shell they have discarded. None can injure them, for they have identified themselves with that which is unaffected by change.
The knowledge that brings peace, then, is the knowledge of unchangeable Principles, arrived at by the practice of pure goodness and righteousness, and by becoming one with these a person becomes immortal, unchangeable and indestructible. Peace is for the pure.
